"Traffic is Hell" Source Code Released


Back in November, 2011, we'd already been logging traffic collisions, hazards, and misc. events from the Austin-Travis County Traffic Report Page for six months. The article, "Traffic is Hell", listed the intersections with the most collisions and we used the geocoded traffic information to generate a map of them. We were able to do this because of some software I wrote that checked that page every five minutes, logged the traffic events, and grabbed coordinates where they happened. (Since then I've been logging the traffic data for two and a half years and running.)

I've uploaded all the code to GitHub, hoping that someone will want to do something with it:
